UK2 Hosting has made some great new upgrades to its servers and server processors, but they have also increased their prices slightly at the per year level.

UK2 Dedicated Server Upgrades

We have spring cleaned our dedicated servers and made a few upgrades. All three of our Dedicated Servers, Bronze, Silver and Gold have had a few changes made to them.

- The Bronze Server processor has been upgraded to a Dual Core 2.0GHz
- The Silver Server processor has been upgraded to a Core2 Duo 2.2GHz and 2GB ram
- The Gold Server hard drive has been upgrade to 2X500GB drives

All the prices and the rest of the specs stay the same.

On the 18th March UK2 changed the price of all its Web Hosting and Dedicated Servers. This happened for various reasons, but the main one being because of the increasing cost of power.

This won’t affect anyone who has bought a product from UK2 prior to the 18th March 2008 until their Web Hosting or Dedicated Server is due for renewal.

Its probably to be expected as appetite for faster processors increase (all those WordPress installations are processor resource hounds), the hosting companies are being pushed to make upgrades and UK2 Hosting is making the upgrades.  But that cost has to be paid somewhere, there’s no hoodia equivalent in the hosting world to keep your hosting costs down.
